But, I did feel like I wanted a sauce to dip these into. Maybe a horsey-type sauce or a marinara.

These Mushroom Fries were outstanding. What a nice treat to the traditional 'french fries' with burgers. Even my picky eater ate them. (They get a $1 for every new food they try The mushrooms had a lot of flavor, were not soggy, nice and crunchy. I made them exactly to the recipe. Makes a great side dish for any dinner. A definite keeper!! Great job Rachael.

Everywhere I turned it was portobello this and portobello that so I decided that while I didn't care all that much for button mushrooms, I should give portobello's a chance.

I really, really like portobello mushrooms fried like this. So did DH even though he qualified it by saying it was very rich so he wouldn't want it as a stand alone appetizer. I told him "No problem since our local grocery store doesn't carry them." Now I can't wait to try the next portobello mushroom recipe which catches my fancy...maybe one of RR's where she grilled them. (especially since i finally found my grilling pan!

This recipe was much faster to prepare than indicated and super easy. Very good-tasted very much like fried mushrooms without all the extra breading.

I totally loved these fries, they were really easy to make. I first made them for a last-minute picnic in the park; it was easy to fry them up really quickly and pack them away in some foil for the picnic. I love how there's no deep-frying involved, and it's moderately healthy with the veggies. So tasty.
