Great recipe. I substituted black beans for pork and it was delish! And so much less fuss without having to cook the pork. I also made an extra and froze and it was equally good (if not better. Had to go to a Spanish market for the tomatillos, and had trouble locating the canned hominy for my second attempt (tonight, but trying it with cooked grits.

Really good and while it was a fair amount of work and mess, with very little extra effort I actually made two large ones and froze one. A few weeks later when you have the frozen one - no work at all ! I also served a little red sause of some kind on the side - like an enchilada sauce. It froze and cooked up very well. I'm getting ready to make it for a second time.

Delicious!!! The lime zest and cilantro add a kick. It is very filling because it has a lot of meat and cheese. It is complicated and time-consuming, so make sure you're not in a rush when you want to make it. I've made it with different types of meat and it still tastes great. I made this for a large group of people and it was a big hit!

Time Consuming, Expensive, but Quite Tasty...

We made a vegetarian version using soysauges instead of the pork, and we didn't need any of the meat seasonings. We only used one lime, as others have suggested. It was delicious! But it took two of us, working together, about an hour to get it all done - and we dirtied a lot of dishes!

A great weekend meal, with leftovers for a few weekdays.

Sorry I am awfully tired of Ms. Ray's telling everyone 30 minutes---sure with a behind the scenes prep committee. Let's be real this was time consuming and if you are not a chile verde kinda person you will not like it.

I am a huge fan of mexican fare, but this was just awful. Should have been sweetened up with a can or two of diced tomatoes. Next time you try a recipe perhaps have someone do a taste test first. With taste buds that actually work. My wife loves tart, but she can't even eat this...

This recipe was a big hit at out family picnic. However the sauce was not great so I used our family recipe for slasa verde. Also we added chrizo to the ground pork since it has no flavor on its own. To bind the items together we used a mexican blend of shredded cheese on top and I had to bake it a few minutes longer to get the cheese fully melted. I would look up other sauce recipes or even try it out of a can! And add chorizo it gives this bland dish some great flavor!

It did take more like an hour to complete instead of thirty mins but I did not have a problem finding ingrediants since I live in Texas. I thought it was easy to make even with all the different ingrediants. I will definitly make again especially for Pot lucks!
