I loved the taste. It was a hit with even the finicky eaters. We began our thanksgiving dinner with the pumpkin soup, it was a great starter. I will be on our
table on a regular basis. Great taste, good texture.

I found the soup very bland (2 stars, but the relish was delicious (5 stars. Next time I make butternut squash soup I will definitely make this relish to put on top. However, I won't be making the pumpkin soup again.

When I told people it was pumpkin soup, I got a funny look. When I told them to eat it with the relish, they said that it couldn't possibly be good. But I made them taste it anyway. The LOVED it!!! I made a ton and my sister who lives far away and visiting had a bowl everyday and even took some home with her. Just a side note; I made it without the chili powder.

I made this last year as pre-dinner snack to have during the football games. It was a great change from the ususal chips and dip and everyone loved it. It was so easy to make and four people asked for the recipe.
Hats off the Rachael for a great soup.

I liked the relish, but the soup was SO bland. I took two spoonfuls and threw the rest away.

This soup is so delicious and the relish so crisp that it's become a new Thanksgiving tradition on the menu!

OK, I admit that I don't like hot sauce. I also was skeptical about the relish; the combos weren't rocking my visual taste buds.
So, I made the soup, minus the hot sauce but something was missing. What the heck, I added the hot sauce.... better! But, still, I wasn't getting the POW flavor factor.
At the last second, I made the relish, since I had everything on hand. Whoa! The relish is what makes the soup work. It's sweet, it's savory, it's different.
    I'll make this one again.
    Great job, Rachael.

this soup was tasty! i cut the cream in half w/ skim milk - tasted great that way.
next time i might run the soup through the blender prior to adding the cream. i think it would be nicer to start with an ultra smooth and creamy soup where the only texture is the relish (which was a nice addition. the cooked onions and celery were a little slimy... but other than that, will definitely make this again!
