My father who is very pickey when it comes to having a soup for supper, went crazy with this soup and it's cran-apple toping - he loved it!!

This is an excellent soup to make on the weekend and warm up to, then have leftovers. My husband loves it the best and I've tried many different recipes. The underlying spice from the hot sauce adds just the right touch. I love the relish with it, but he eats it plain. I haven't tried the healthier version as Rachel alluded to during the show with just using stock and not heavy cream, but it may be a good option if we keep having it this often! Enjoy!

Absoutley wonderful. The relish makes this dish. Had it at Thanksgiving. Have never had soup before at Thanksgiving, but watched Rachel Ray's special on Thanksgiving in 60 & decided to try it.
Everyone loved it, even my finiky eaters. They said it should a new ritual with our family & we should have it every year. It was so easy to make.

this is an excellent recipe. my table absolutely LOVED the soup, and i even cut down on the fat by combining both cream and milk (light cream. I controlled the thickness through limiting the stock to 5 cups. Also, i eliminated the hot sauce and it was perfectly yummy nonetheless. The soup keeps well warm in a crockpot, too. The relish was so excellent! It was perfect as an addition to our thanksgiving menu.
By the way, DON'T use 2 T of the poultry seasoning, it meant to read 2 teaspoons!!

This was a wonderful addition to our Thanksgiving dinner. It had a bit of "kick" to it with the chile powder - and the relish was great as well.

I made this for our thanksgiving appetizer, my whole family raved about how good it was and they now consider me a gourmet cook.......a long way away from the "tomboy girl" that their son married 5 years ago (I had trouble boiling water back then

I cut this recipe in half as I bought a 14oz can of pumpkin. I was so suprised that my boyfriend was reluctant to try as he is very 'worldly' when it comes to foods. Once he did, I couldn't keep him out of the pot!! As far as spices go with recipes....I always add to my OWN liking, so I didn't catch that Ms. Ray had inadvertently put too much poultry seasoning in the recipe. This soup was so very awesome, thanks for the recipe!!!
