I had everything already in my pantry so I just ran with it and made some modifications. I used 1/3 cup of broken wheat pasta, 1/2 cup of brown rice and 1/3 cup of orzo. Sauted one shallot in the butter. Then I added some salt, pepper, dried parsley, garlic powder and a pinch of oregano to the chicken broth. I definitely had to use more than the 1 1/2 cups of broth that Rachel asks for. Since the rice needed more liquid to cook, I kept adding a little water so that it wouldn't be too salty. It turned out really good and I will be making it again!

When searching for a pilaf recipe, this was exactly what I wanted--just a guide on how much pasta/rice vs. liquid. I sauteed some asparagus with onions and peppers, seasoned it up, tossed it in with the cooked pilaf and added just a touch more butter. SOO good! Husband thought it was quite tasty.

Easy to make but a little flavor less. I see that many people added onions or veggies. That might help.

Easy, quick, and everything's on hand in my cupboard! I fixed this with grilled salmon. It was a perfect complement to the dinner. Thanks!

Recipe was very good. I added a little grandulated garlic and pepper flakes.

Something I will use quite often.
