Well, this is how i've always made my sausage and peppers! i buy one "swirl" use about 1 and 1/2 pepper and a half an onion and use my gram's jarred tomato sauce instead of the paste when i have it. Always a winner. the oven doesn't need to be 425. I do 375 for about a half hour. I came on looking for an idea, and i haven't made this in a while! Sausage and peppers it is!!

This is delicious, but I agree with the others who said that it greases up the oven and gets the kitchen really smokey. Make sure you have a good kitchen fan or open the windows, wow. Next time I'll just grill the sausages.

I had regular (not thin italian sausages. I cut them in half length wise and placed them on a glass baking dish. ON half of the sausages I sprinkled crushed red pepper flakes and the other half i drizzled with some honey (to get the spicy and sweet. I followed the directions on the recipe, sausage were in the oven for 20 minutes. It was amazingly good. Side note: I hate when people complain about recipes they just can't cook. I say try it again and make it your own. Be happy!

I couldn't find the swirled sausage like the recipe asked for. Instead I used the links. Had no problem with getting them cooked in 15-20 minutes. For those of you having problems getting the swirled sausage to work try the links. My husband loved this.

It was excellent..it did take about an hour for the sausages at 425 but it was well worth the wait
