One caution ? use a cheaper sweet marmalade.
I was making this for a special dinner, and decided to buy the most expensive French marmalade on the shelf. The dressing had a very strong bitter aftertaste ? unpleasant. So I tasted the marmalade plain and it was very bitter. I suggest using a cheap American sweet variety. I opted for this salad over a couple others, because so many raved about the dressing.
So, get to know your marmalade first.
Other than that, I used toasted almonds rather than walnuts and added diced peeled/seeded cucumber and dried cranberries along with the red onion.

I have made this salad for several different events and I always worry that there will be too much, but I never leave with any left overs! The dressing is super yummy, just make sure you don't let it sit on the lettuce for too long or it makes it a little soggy. Very yummy!

I'm not for nuts and orange marmalade but I made this salad for a dinner party and received nothing but compliments and asking for the recipe.

I made this for dinner with friends and my husband...everyone loved it! I now make a quadruple recipe of the dressing so it is available all the time!

The vinaigrette is outstanding; I could do without the toasted walnuts in the salad

It is just the right amount of flavor for a light salad without overpowering the salad. You get to taste all the fresh ingrediants. Quick and delish...

The salad is great...I found, though, that the dressing is either a love it or hate it! It's a great change from the usual "ranch" or "italian". Try it!

The flavors in this salad are amazing. Just be careful not to add too much red onion...
