These were perfect for the party I took them to.....A little time consuming but worth it.

The sausage balls were a hit...very tender, lots of flavor, delicious. The dip was too sweet and there was a lot left over. Next time I'll cut the apricot preserves in half and add more meat to the recipe.

The recipe was a hit, however, there was way too much dip! Next time, I'll cut down on the sauce by AT LEAST one-third. (However, I did use the leftover sauce on a pork tenderloin and it was great.

Made this recipe on a whim - found in her cookbook. The dipping sauce was a bit too sweet, but I can experiment with that. I only had 1 lb sausage to work with, so I bulked it up with chopped roasted red pepper. Very good - gave it more depth, flavor, color for presentation.

I don't understand "Anonymous" saying the recipe doesn't say what to do with the onions!! They stay in the sauce! I also found like the other cook that the sauce is double what is needed with the amount of sausage balls...since sausage is usually made in 1 lb. amounts, that's what I used but kept the other amounts the same. Be sure not to overcook. It didn't make that many, four of us ate all of them as well as other appetizers, so I'd double the sausage to 2 lbs. and keep the sauce amount the same. Easy to make, people liked them.
