WOW! This one is a winner in taste and ease of preparation. My husband loved it so much he requested it to be repeated the next week. We love to cook and like to elevate our meals but this recipe is perfect just like it is!

I love Rachael Ray but this recipe was not up to par... The steak was my problem. When I was making it I knew I needed to at least add an egg or something to the mix but I didnt because I wanted to see how her recipe went and as I knew the patties just completely fell apart - they are way too big to be able to flip in the pan and not have them break apart. There was WAY too much onion and that was really the only flavor they then ended up having... very disappointed.

The most disappointing Salisbury steak we've ever tasted. The Montreal seasoning overwhelmed the dish. We couldn't finish the meal.

I was a bit nervous about making my own gravy, but it came out great. the mini portabellos were pre-sliced in my supermarket. i added some garlic to everything. I will substitute cheddar for the pricey Boursain. and make smaller patties as well not cooking them as much (6 mins each side and have them finish cooking in the gravy, like my Italian meatballs. ohh and leave out the Montreal seasoning and add something different. Like all the other reviews this is a GREAT STARTER RECIPE for you to modify.

I added garlic to the mushrooms and beer to the gravy. I also simmered the "steaks" in the hot gravy while the potatoes cooked.

When you have hamburger but are tired of making hamburgers, this is a great recipe. It's easy and tasty and I generally have all the ingredients on hand already. The gravy is so simple and really adds a lot of flavor.

I make this over and over! Just so different than a burger. Have in my recipe box, and keep searching for it again and again. The gravy is excellent and probably makes the difference..
