Loved it! A great meal! The only thing I would change is not actually anything in the recipe itself. I would only make them smaller and thinner for my young children. They came out quite thick and it was hard for them to get their little mouths around them. But that's the only thing I would do differently. Once again, another amazing recipe from Rachael Ray! :

Watched this episode the other day and decided to try this recipe out. So glad I did. I did not make the mashed potato with parsnips as my hubby is a very picky eater. This was a hit. Way better than anything you get in an actual TV dinner. Definitely will make it again. I am so extremely happy I finally found a recipe for Salisbury Steak. Served with regular Mashed potatoes and corn. Very yummy!

just watched this episode again, we love this salisbury steak recipe!! really like how you bake instead of fry the steaks and the gravy is fantastic! i do use dried parsley, less of course! sometimes add sliced mushrooms in with the onions and use less what's-it-here sauce. wish my husband liked parsnips, might try to sneak one in sometime with the potatoes!! lol!! love you rachael girl!!

This is the first and last salisbury steak recipe I'll ever use! Rolling the parsley in the meat--as shown in the episode but omitted from the recipe above--is the pièce de résistance.

The meat came out perfectly at 25 minutes--slightly crusted edges, perfectly juicy inside. The gravy benefited from the browned onions and a pinch of thyme. I used chicken stock instead of beef. Stellar!

Not a lot of parsnip fans in this house, so we stuck with traditional garlic mashed potatoes.

My family loved this recipe! : I made this tonight, and it will definitely be a repeat dish!!! I made this without the sage, and it was still "yummo!" I strained the gravy for the kids, so they still had all of the onion flavor without actually seeing the onions. However, for the adults, the onions are fantastic. Thanks Rachel!

The steak and gravy was excellent. The gravy is what really makes it! I added extra garlic coursly chopped and used rubbed sage so it had great texture. My husband LOVED it.

We've never tried parsnips before, not that great but maybe I used too many. The package had 3 parsnips and I didn't know what I'd do w/1 so I put it in the pan. Next time I'll make my regular mashed potatoes. This recipe is a keeper.

OMG, So good! Watched this episode this morning and had to try it. Changed it up a bit to suit our tastes. As others said, the parsley went in the meat also added a bit of grill seasoning. The meat made 6 good size portions. Also cooked for about 10 more minutes as they weren't quite done. Added a few extra potatoes and some garlic and the ratio with the parsnips was perfect. Added 2 tbsp butter with half n half and a sprinkle of dried garlic at the end. In the gravy, I used dried thyme and rosemary instead of the sage as I do not care for sage. All in all, my family loved it. Thanks Rachel. Will definitely make again!

This is not Salisbury steak but I had anticipated that when I read the recipe. It is more like a mini-meatloaf. The meat was quite good but the sauce was kind of blah which is strange considering there was so much Worcestershire sauce (which I love and sage as part of the ingredients. I will not be making this again.

OMG!!! How amazing was dinner last nigh?? Every week I have dinner parties at my house. Usually what I do, I try out the receipe prior to me presenting the dish at my party. In this way I can fix any mistakes I make and no one will ever know it. Now... with this recipe, I took a chance and prepared it for the first time before my guest arrived...omg!!! it was on the money. Everyone loved this recipe and so did I. Leaving my guest asking for more...
As with any meal you prepare, you have to season the food according to your likes. If the recipe says only to add a tsp of salt, flour, pepper, ect.. and when you taste it it's bland, just add a little more until your taste buds are satsified. These recipes that the food network shares are only guidelines. All recipes are not actually seasoned tastefully according to your likes. Baking is a lot different then cooking, just have fun with it. Everyone taste buds are different so add a little flare to these recipes that you make note of and make them your own.
