Tried this tonight - just the salisbury steak and gravy - made my own garlic mashed potatoes. What a great recipe and roadmap! I added a little A-1 sauce to my gravy for a little extra flavor. Lovely way to use ground sirloin other than hamburgers, meatloaf or spaghetti. Gravy is FABULOUS!!!! Love Rachael for the techniques she teaches us and then we can add our own tweaks to the recipes. Happy family- and that's what really counts.

The meat recipe was missing the parsley to be added. As printed in the recipe by the Food Network stated to add the parsley to the potato and parsnips. This was inaccurate based on the television show I watched. This was an error that The Food Network has made on numerous occasions for various chefs on thier programs. There is a fundamental "trust" issue I find missing when I refernence a recipe in print. Do you not have a "quality control" staff that reviews the recipes before it is presented to the public? I find these errors inexecusible for the public and ask you as the one responsible for the recipe's to take accountability for the accuracy of your published recipes. On the up side, the baisic recipe was very good. The next time I make it I will reduce the onions and introduce mushrooms to the gravy. Once again, the bottom line is :trusting" the recipe as it is printed.

I followed this recipe to the letter. It was so awsome. The combination of the parsnips with the potatoes was just such a treat for the taste buds. The little meat loves with the onion gravy, fantastic. Thanks Rachael.

This was very good, I really enjoyed the gravy, I will make the gravy often. The salisbury steak was very tender, I didn't make the parsnip, I made my own mashed potatoes.

I served this dish to my family tonight and it was a "wower". My kids, 13 and 10, are usually very picky but they ate this up and so did my husband and I. I also added mushrooms to the sauce and only 1 onion. My recipe had lots of mistakes in it and left out the worcestershire and stock from the sauce. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to add them! I also roasted some garlic cloves and added them to the sauce and potatoes, Fantastic!

tasted more like meatload than actual salisbury steak. however the gravey is to die for! i added only 1/2 an onion and made up the difference in mushrooms. not exactly what it claims to be, but good none the less!

I saw this on TV this morning and decided to cook this for dinner. Myself and husband are not true fans of Salisbury Steak but it looked really easy and good. So to the store I went and got eveything needed. Yes the show this morning was different from the printed version but that was easy to fix. If I had not seen the show I would not have known however. After eating dinner tonight both my husband and I agreed that this is a keeper and he is thankful that there is the FoodNetwork Show that I love to watch and get all kinds of new ideas for our meals. I loved the potatoes, I have never tried parsnips and they gave a little sweet taste to the potatoes which was a very nice change. I often add turnips or celery root to them and everyone loves them. This is something that I will be sharing with my work, my children and family as it is something that is easy and very good. Thank you Rachael Ray for all of your recipes and Thank you FoodNetwork for the shows you have on. I love most of them
