    I rated this recipe low because of the amount of Cracker Meal called for in the recipe way entirely too much filler for what could be a delicious Salmon Cake, otherwise. I followed the recipe completely rather than adjust the amount of filler. I like to taste the Salmon, but it was lost in the filler. All of the other ingredients were great, especially the bed of lettuce with lemon juice and olive oil. I will try this recipe again, but will use very little Cracker Meal.

    Just made this for my family! It was so wonderful! The tangy, freshness of the salad was a perfect compliment to the moist, delicious patties. Crispy on the outside and soft and yummy inside.Strong, but not overpowering at all. We didn't even need the sauce. Just every bite with the salad! :

    There was much that I liked in this recipe: the red pepper and the chives were additions I don't normally make to salmon cakes (dill and lemon, I love.

    But I was little wary that this recipe seemed more like a crab cake mixture than a salmon cake, and I wish I had trusted my instincts.

    My first bites of these cakes were pleasing, but it went downhill as the Old Bay came to the fore. I'm new to Old Bay, and I love it with crab and shrimp. But it does not work well with salmon, and this recipe calls for a lot of it (2 teaspoons.

    Take out the Old Bay, and you have a great recipe. You could even sub a dash of nutmeg, if you want some spice background. Or, swap the salmon for crab, and you have great crab cakes.

    Could have been really good, but the Old Bay ruined it for me.

    Really liked the chives and serving on lettuce...great for summer! I did add a few more herbs and topped with a mayo mustard sauce. Very easy and quick!

    There was no way to enjoy the salmon with all the cracker meal used in this recipe. PASS!!!

    the outcome of this very simple recipe was really good. i'm sure i'll be serving this again if i have leftover salmon or salmon from a can.
