I made this along with the corresponding meal for a dinner party for my boyfriend and me along with another couple. We each cut our own piece of cake and made it accustomed to our own tastes. This really was a Fantastic option. Everyone chose a dessert liquor to their liking. I used Baileys, other's used Kahlua or Frangelico, or Both. My boyfriend can't have regular chocolate so we got white chocolate for him....and inadvertently we all used a bit of it. Everyone really loved this and it was the perfect topper for the night. It was a good thing that the cake I bought allowed for more than one helping for all.

Very easy, but nothing special. Although if you need something quickly it is very quick.

i happened to have a pound cake from scratch at home and used that. i shaved the bittersweet chocolate real fine so that it looked like a dusting. we decided not to use the chocolate syrup, and tastes just as wonderful without it.

This was SOOOOO EASY!!! I even messed up and used frangelica (sp? instead AND forgot the chocolate shavings on top, but this is a no fail recipe and turned out superb! The liquor I used had more of an almond taste rather than the anise, and I think I liked it better this way. Next time I'll remember the chocolate on top, but we all got a nice piece of it afterwards!

My family had doubts about the anise flavor but they gobbled this up and said it was a keeper. :
