The first time I made this recipe was a couple of years ago when I first saw Rachael cook it on TV. I ended up buying the wrong kind of vermouth, not having the pan "screaming hot" enough, and using onions instead of shallots!! Obviously, it did NOT turn out well. However, I decided to give it another try recently after seeing her make in on TV again, and I was very impressed. I wasn't scared of burning the food this time, so the scallops caramelized perfectly in the screaming hot pan (and I used the correct ingredients!. It was delicious! I would definitely make this recipe again, now that I know how to do it right!!!

I made this last night I had strip steaks and bought sea scallops. I got 8 scallops for 13.00. Kind of expensive for my budget but we love to eat good food so I went for it. It is the sauce that makes this dish special. I love scallops but they are just a extra expense here. The steak and the sauce are the stars in this production. I didn't have sweet vermouth but I got a small bottle of martini and rossi for 3.50. I have plenty left to make this sauce over and over again. I may add mushrooms next time.

This is beyond easy and good tasting. Very easy quick meal to prepare. A little pricey to purchase, but well worth the time to prepare, what 10 mins, and the price, an arm and a leg...

Steak was great but not with the sauce. The sauce was really good with the scallops though.

I have never cooked scallops before and was looking for something somewhat easy. This was so easy to cook and actually did not take long at all to make. I had to put the steaks back on the skillet as the time listed was not long enough for our desired tenderness. The Manhattan sauce was a nice touch with the scallops especially. I will definitely make this again!

This was a perfect and easy recipe as well as appealing to the eye. The scallops and steak complimented each other as did the manhattan sauce made from vermouth. The asparagas was the perfect vegetable for his meal.

Wow, I made this for my husband and we couldn't believe how good this was. Now when we go out to dinner we are always dissappointed with our meal if it is steak. Rachael, you have just ruined us. This is such a simple yet excellent way to do meat. I have made this several times with all types of steak and it is perfect everytime! Thank You!
