I made these burgers the other night for my husband and he loved them. He said the had just the right amount of heat. I used the red onion, red and green bell pepper, no yellow pepper. I used 1 diced jalapeno but no tabasco. I topped our burger with cheddar cheese instead of pepper jack cheese. I served them with a side of caesar salad. Great meal, I will definately make this one again.

Thanks Rachel! I dont like relish of any kind really so I made a sauce of equal parts spicy mustard, minced chipotle and adobo sauce, and mayo. WOW Really pops with the burgers!

Having made turkey burgers in the past and having been disappointed, I decided to give up on them all together. I have found turkey burgers to be dry and flavorless, leaving me craving a "regular" burger. I really wanted an alternative to red meat and after having read this recipe I decided to give turkey burgers one last shot. I'm glad I did because these burgers were excellent and I plan to use this recipe again and again! I did not use the red pepper relish and left out the turkey bacon (I just like cheese on my burgers. I'm really pysched to have an alternative burger recipe that doesn't taste like a sad second to ground chuck!

I've never made turkey burgers before. But, WOW, .....SO good! I made them fat and juicy. My husband was in heaven. I altered the recipe a little. I didn't have any jalopeno or serrano peppers, nor did I have any cilantro or parsley...so both of those were omitted. I added a bit of Tony Chachero's creole seasoning, and also some Honey Hickory BBQ sauce to the burger mixture.
Didn't have pepper jack, so used baby swiss cheese. But, I do think the pepper jack would have been perfect.
On top of the burgers I put some sauteed mushrooms and slices of avocado. OH YUM.

My husband is Mexican and loves spicy foods, as does the rest of our family. Although through the years of our marriage, I have learned to cook many authentic Mexican dishes, I love to try new and exciting recipes. This is definitely the best burger recipe, EVER!! My husband requests these and absolutely loves them, along with myself and our kids. This will be a family favorite for years to come. Thanks, Rachael!!

I'm always looking for a good turkey burger recipe, and I think I found my favorite!I The only thing I changed was the way I cooked them at the end. I put the patties back into the fridge for about 1/2 hour so the turkey didn't fall apart in the pan, then I browned them in the frying pan for 5 min. then stuck them into the oven 400 degrees for 6 min (got off a different food network recipe. I've tried cooking them strictly in the pan but feel as if my chunky patties don't cook all the way through, this way they do!

I followed this recipe exactly as written, and it turned out amazing! Very juicy and full of flavor. The sweet pepper relish is an absolute must! It seriously is the "cherry on top"!!!

I have (nor has my husband ever eaten turkey burgers until I tried this recipe and now it's in our rotation at least a couple times a month. We, like many others, are trying to cut down our beef consumption and this is such a nice change yet still feels like you are eating a burger -- without the guilt!
The flavors are perfect as is in the recipe, the burgers are juicy and moist and the southwest flavor is such a great complement to what can usually be dry, bland tasting ground turkey. We love it and even though I look for Red Pepper Jelly every time I'm at the store and still can't find it, the burgers taste just fine without it. I usually accompany them with homemade sweet potato fries and we both love eating a homemade "fast food" type meal that has WAY more flavor (and a lot less guilt than anything you get through a drive-through window!

I haven't made turkey burgers in a long time because they have been so dry, but these were so moist that I will use this recipe from now on. I followed the recipe as it was written and it had just the right amount of spice to liven up the blandness of turkey and the red pepper relish was the crowning glory. This is definitely a keeper.
