I am a big fan of RR and I have had many huge successes with her recipes. This tasted good, but nothing I would make again. I see where the Spanish flavors come from - I just didn't really taste them a whole lot. I'll still try RR's stuff, but this one won't be kept around.

This must actually use aged chorizo. The links in the prepared case (one of my stores has it in the dairy case, the other in the lunchmeat/bacon case usually crumbles into a red oily mess. A tasty mess to be sure, but a mess nevertheless. In watching Rachael make this, her chorizo stayed in the chunks she cut it, so it must be the aged version, right? Can one of you who have made this verify it for me? Thanks!

I've made a couple of Rachael's recipes before and was a bit disappointed so I was a bit worried to try this but was glad I did. The burgers had the most wonderful flavor and the red pepper sauce went very well with it. The hash browns were not my favorite but I think it was because of the chorizo. I never had them before I did not really care for the smokey flavor they gave to the potatoes. I will make this again but maybe I will put a bit of the burger in the hash browns instead next time. Thanks Rachael. You made me a fan again.

LOVE THE CHEESE, so delicious and totally worth shelling out a liiiiiittle bit extra. I was too lazy to make the paste, so instead I just chopped up some peppers and mixed them into the ground beef (poor student = normal ground beef, not sirloin. I also was too lazy for the hash browns. But still, one of the best burgers I have ever eaten.

I've probably made this recipe 10xs since it first aired. I'm surprised at the comments as this really is an exceptional recipe. The cheese is pricey but it really finishes off the burger and the smoked paprika gives it a wonderful flavor. Cooking tonight with pepper jack cheese as store didn't have manchego. I often make the hash potatoes as a side dish with breakfast. 5 stars!

Both the hash browns and the burgers were good, and a nice flavor change-up from the standards of both, but neither one was spectacular.
Overall, a quick and easy substitute for the regular old burger dinner.

I just made it and it was pretty good. It is a good way to change up the regular old hamburger. Everyone enjoyed it, but I do agree that it is not anything particularly spectacular-Good flavors though. I had a hard time getting a "paste" maybe because all I could find were roasted red bell peppers. We cooked the burgers on the grill and buttered the buns and toated them in a grill pan--good! The hashbrowns were good--make sure to have enough oil in the pan to get them crispy.

We found the hash browns were far too greasy. The burgers were just o.k. considering the expense of the sirloin and Manchego cheese. JPW

I couldn't find all of the ingredients for this recipie so I substituted a few. I thought the burgers were great. A little too big but really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the hashbrowns but steak fries with a spanish seasoning work well.
