The basil chicken is delicious! I didn't add the fish sauce and I also didn't have chili oil, but I substituted it with Sriracha and olive oil mixed. We also added jalapenos and a splash of soy sauce. Came out so yummy and healthy tasting! We will definitely make this again!

This was recipe was easy and tasty. I love onion's so added more onions than red bell peppers.

After reading a few of the reviews below, I was hesitant to try this recipe. I decided to give it a whirl and absolutely loved it! The recipe is exactly like the basil chicken at our favorite Thai place. My picky children even loved it! When my "meat and potato" kids devour a dish like this, I know its a winner!

I drained a bit of the liquid from the wok and added some flour for a glaze. YUMMY!

Perfect. Tastes like a restaurant meal. My son didn't even speak while he devoured it--that means it's top-notch.

I found this dish lacking in taste. The dish had a kick and I could have increased it, but the overall taste was bland. I did not make the salad because I am allergic to peanuts. If you really like thai food for the flavor and not just the spice I recommend a different recipe.

My fiance and I love Thai food, but saving for a wedding means cutting way back on dining out. Found this recipe and absolutely loved it! The left overs were fantastic as well! Will definitely make this one again and again!

this was actually really good, but i made a few adjustments.
i marinated the chicken w/ soy sauce, ginger, garlic, basil, cilantro, chili powder, salt, & pepper before cooking.
also, i added 1tbsp of hoison sauce with the fish sauce.
finally, tomatoes at the end with the basil. the tomatoes i think added a lot. i got the idea from my favorite thai restaurant that serves basil chicken.

this isn't super authentic, but it's easy and a crowd pleaser :

The entree had no taste, or one that I liked and the salad dressing was more like peanut butter cream. I had to add so much more vinegar to make it "drizzle". The recipe on the back of Taste of Thai green and red curry paste has a MUCH better and more authentic recipe for the entree. I'm not sure what the salad was supposed to resemble. D-

Wow this was really a disappointing dish. Sorry RR but I think this style of cooking is not your forte. The flavor profile, even though the dish had heat, was very bland and a little pungent due to the fish sauce that didn't have anything else to blend with. I actually added a touch of sweet chile sauce, more basil and oyster sauce to balance it out and it awoke this dish immediately. Unfortunately Thai food isn't a style of cooking that you can skimp on ingredients with. Good try RR to make this style easy but stick to what you know and leave Thai alone. Sorry for the bluntness... still love you RR

this is an easy recipe. so don't expect something authentic or fancy. it is good for a quick dinner, but not something to curb your thai food restaurant craving.
