The first time I I've tried almost every kind of store bought hummus available in my area

Just whipped this up in less than 5 minutes... I used 1/2 tsp cayenne for an extra kick & also a drizzle of chili oil. I added just a pinch or two of salt & I think I will try it with none next time and add it in at the end. Was a little salty for me.
I can see many ways of reworking this with white kidney, black or northern beans, different herbs such as chives, parsley or cilantro... or minced kalamata or green olives even.

This recipe is outstanding. Phenomenal flavor!!! I make this all the time and eat it not only with pita chips but with fresh veggies. I usually add a little extra lemon juice, olive oil, and about a tbsp. of water to get a consistency that is a bit smoother. Thank you, Rachael!!!!

Really good flavor! Used a whole lemon and had to add a little water to get the right consistency. Better than any you could buy!

This recipe is great for a basic hummus, and extremely easy to modify to your own taste. I made a triple batch since one can of chickpeas really isn't a whole lot, and it nearly filled the food processor. I ended up using a little more olive oil as well as a little bit of vegetable stock to thin it out just a bit, plus I pretty much double all of the add-ins: tahini I added a few extra tbsps, as well as 2 whole lemons and a little bit of zest, more garlic and spices. But the basic ingredients are great to begin with and alter from there.

This is hands down the best hummus I've tasted. It does need some additional liquid, I added about two tablespoons of EVOO. Delish.

My wife loves hummus and most of what I have tried were ok at best. I loved this recipe as did she. I made two batches of this and the second I added asain chili paste which gave a little more heat and a richer taste.

I add 2 tsp. of Cumin and I up the lemon to 1/3 cup. It is so addicting with corn chips. I make at least one batch per week.
Love it!

This recipe makes a perfect tasting hummus, however, the recipe needs some fine tuning. I added a little of the chickpea water, a little more EVOO, and a little more lemon juice. Just follow the recipe and adjust ingredients as you go. You can't really go wrong. Otherwise the combination of ingredients produces an authentic tasting hummus. This is definitely my hummus recipe from now on!
