I too had a lot of leftover stuffing. I added the shredded mozarella into it and made stuffed manicotti with it. It was delicious that way also! It is a little bland so I think the next time I would add some crushed red pepper or maybe use the hot marinated archicokes instead of the ones in water.

I made these one night for dinner and my guests loved them. Easy and quick to prepare - and a good source of veggies. These also heated up great the next day as left-overs.

The sauce with this recipe is great, and would probably work well with other dishes!

i made this with pillsbury canned pizza dough, but it tasted like biscuits. would have been better with better dough. any recommendations for the dough? i added fesh basil too, that gives it more flavor.

we found this recipe to be just fantastic...although i did cheat a bit and made it into a pizza. i seasoned the crust with s and p, topped with the ricotta, mozz, spinach and marinated artichoke hearts. add your own spices: fresh garlic, onions, diced tomato...and the homemade marinara was done in a flash! And SOOOO GOOD! best of all, a new family treat that was fresh and satisfying. I heard no complaints about the lack of greasy meat! :

These calzones are delicious and easy to make. However, the filling makes much more than four calzones. I had so much left over I made four more the next night. The second time I made them I also used more than the recommended spinach filling and mozzarella so they weren't quite so "bready." There is extra dough on the corners, so any tears that happened were easily patched up with no problems. I will definitely be making these again, as my son has declared them his new favorite dinner.

I made this for a family gathering recently. So simple and so yummy. I was able to prepare the calzone mix and put in fridge. While we were all chatting, etc. I stuffed the mix into the pizza dough and we chatted while it cooked quickly and smelled delicious. Perfect for entertaining. I used Paul Newman's sockarooni instead of making the sauce. Note: These are large so you can probably split in half. Enjoy!
