This was delicious! The flavors complimented each other well. This was very easy to make. My husband really enjoyed it, even though he refuses to call it a sandwich! Even my 3 yr. old picky eater ate the meat. Can't wait to make this again.

I made this last night for my 5 year old son and I. Of course, I omited the cheese and greens for him but he loved the meat.

I cut up his steak in small pieces and placed it right on the puff pastry. he ate the whole thing!

I used spinach and a mixture of Goranzola and goat cheese crumbled. My only mistake was that since I was watching it on tv while cooking it, I over shot the amount of salt she tosses. It was a little too salty. Next time, knowing my heavy hand, I will not salt the puff pastry and it should be just fine.

I made the pears that she made on her show with these sandwiches, easy and great!

I have NEVER made anything of Rachel Ray's and decided to use this recipe just because of the puff pastry (use the recommended brand. I normally don't make steak sandwich's because I feel like I have to add extra meat to balance out the amount of thick(hero/roll bread. I made this Steak sandwich this evening (10/12/08 and everyone really enjoyed it (a miracle considering I have a bunch of extremely ungrateful, picky eaters here. I don't like skirt steak and didn't have rosemary so I used Beef Tenderloin (of course it was super tender and easier to cut/manage and seasoned it with adobo, garlic and parsely. The salad mixed with the grilled Asparagus to go on top was out of this world! On the side/ as a starter I made an avocado soup with a smoked chipotle sour cream dip...yummo! The only problem ... if you don't have help in the kitchen and don't time everything correctly it will get to the table cold! My mom is now trying to figure out what other things to do with the left over puff pastry and my father keeps saying he felt like he ate a gourmet steak sandwich (and "Get out of here! Rachel Ray made this! ... lol.

I find it interesting all of the 5 stars when people altered the recipe. I made it as it, except marinated meat 40 min while puff pastry defrosted. The meal was ok, but it isn't a keeper for me.

My family loved it. My kids couldn't get enought. All of the flavors went great together. I could not find skirt steak either so I used sirlion and couldn't tell a difference.
