These burgers were fantastic! All of the flavors came together so well and who knew beans would taste so good in a burger? The rice is a great idea and helped bind the ingredients together. These do come out very large so I increased my cooking time to make sure the turkey was done all the way through. To make it my own, I added lettuce, tomato, bacon, and roasted red peppers. Rachel's recipes are family friendly and always seem to hit a home run in my house!

I made these after seeing the episode and thinkinig that they sounded good. For once I had everything on hand! I did use black beans rather than pinto as they were what I had on hand along with thinking they are healthier. After reading some of the reviews I also opted to make these smaller rather than four giant burgers, I made them into seven. They were fantastic! I didn't make the sauce, didn't feel there was a need for it! I am going to try this fall as a meatloaf style. Absolutely loved this recipe!

Make this burger. It is DELICIOUS! Definitely make six, I can't even imagine how huge they would be if you only made four. I am planning on making this again, shaping them kind of oblong to fit in a tortilla like a burrito.

Being A mexican fanatic when it comes to cooking I could not wait to make this recipe. It was certainly an easy recipe to assemble but not anything that would make any member of the house say yum. The burgers were bland on their own and palletable with the sauce.
I only used one lime but if I had to do it over again would have used half a lime due to the overwhelming lime flavor.
Great idea in therory but not a recipe that my family is ready for. Unfortunately I have never rated a recipe a two befor but that is the best I can do.
Sorry But this not a truly rated recipe.
My dogs did enjoy all of the left overs we did not eat

Rebecca..gotta tell ya how timely your recipe tweaking idea is! I saw the recipe on the episode shown today and thought it sounded great...but would have to wait to make it for a few days because I have bell peppers that need to be used today! So...I'm soooo doing your idea cause I have all the other ingredients as well. Thanks Lady!

I loved the mixture for the burgers so much that I wanted to utilize it a different way. Voila, Suffed bell peppers.

You will want to add a little more EVOO to the mixture to keep it moist.
I added McCormick's Chipotle Seasoning Packet for extra seasoning.

*Cut the tops off the bell peppers, (save tops, clean out.
*Add the cooked and seasoned turkey, rice and bean mixture in to the peppers. *Bake at 400 degrees for a total of 30 minutes. The first 20 minutes without the tops. The last 10 minutes add parmesan cheese and the tops.

It is fabulous and a hit in my house!

Thank you Rachael for a great recipe!!!

I made this recipe last night with a few changes. I had all of the ingredients on hand but I didn't have any hamburger buns so I decided to make a meat pie instead. I used kidney beans because that is what I had on hand and I used freeze dried cilantro instead of coriander. Flattened the mixture into a 9 x 9" pan and baked it for 1 hour at 350 degrees. I had some frozen Trader Joe's guacamole and added the sour cream to it. (45 minutes might have been betterTopped each piece of the pie with a slice of tomato, the guacamole and then added some salsa. This was so good I will make it again and again and who needs the extra calories of the bun. Oh and by the way, I used Minute Ready to Serve Brown & Wild Rice which comes in 1 cup containers that is already cooked. You usually have to microwave it for 1 minute but since it is already cooked and you need it cold, I just added it right from the cup. Great time saver.

This was our first turkey burger and won't be our last. We are big beef eaters but due to a sale on ground turkey and such great reviews- we took a risk. My husband was VERY skeptical even as they were cooking. -He LOVED them and wants them again soon! We made 6 perfect size patties- cooked them on the grill and added just a little cilantro. They had so much flavor!!! I love the sour cream sauce. PIck up an extra lime and some Corona- GREAT summer meal to enjoy on the patio.

Love this recipe. I always have leftover rice on hand and this is a terrific and healthful burger that uses up a lot of my leftovers. The kids love it, too. Easy and tasty.

I had leftover rice from Chinese takeout, so I figured I'd give it a shot. WOW! Was I impressed! The guacamole sauce is amazing! I tried it bun-free, like other reviewers, and really enjoyed it. Sure it would be great with a bun too. I also made 7 normal sized burgers instead of the 4 huge ones. Rachael is a size queen when it comes to burgers - I prefer them a little more manageable. Will definitely make again!
