Totally enjoyed them. I didn't follow to the letter but used ingredients I had on hand. I used Italian seasoned bread crumbs and Parmesan in place of asiago. I chose to omit pine nuts or almonds. I agree with others to use more salt and I also used black pepper. I would not recommend omitting fennel seeds but maybe using less for those who aren't fans. Will definitely make again and BEST OF ALL...only 3 Weight Watcher points! Does make more than you need as mentioned in other reviews but going to add ricotta to leftover meat mixture and make lasagna rolls or cook and serve with fettuccine.

The only thing my family liked were the mushrooms. I agree the mixture made easily double for the amount of shrooms. We made the original recipe.

I made two batches, one with chicken and one with sausage. I left the fennel out of both. No one liked the chicken at all. The sausage was better but only slightly. Like another person said, I too am not sure what was right with this recipe. Also, it makes too much filling for this many mushrooms. If you are going to try it, double the mushrooms.

I have made these many times and they are always great. I use chicken, turkey or pork sausage what ever I have on hand. I also leave out the fennel seed and nuts. These are a must along with Cajun shrimp at every family function.

I was a little nervous making these, after reading the reviews. I used turkey, with 1/2 as much fennel (which I crushed up, but could have used the full amount. Left out the nuts. The flavors were really good together. I needed more salt, though. Also, it made WAY more filling than for 16 mushrooms!

I altered this recipe. My husband didn't want turkey, so I used sweet and spicy sausage instead. I used more mushrooms than it called for and I didn't use nuts. I served them for a family party and they disapeared almost instantly.

Use her stuffed mushrooms recipe for sausage-stuffed-mushrooms much better

I made this recipe as directed and the combination of flavors was just awful. I can't imagine Rachel Ray actually tried them. I didn't want to waste them so I ended up drowning them in alfredo sauce but the terrible taste still came through.
