Very good, just made this last night. I had some nice thick cut bacon which was wonderful. I loved the contrast if the sweet pea with the smokey, salty bacon. I followed fellow reviewers and wiped out most of the residual bacon grease, in exchange for some EVOO. The only thing I would change is I won't cook them covered as long next time as I like a little more crunch to my snap pea. Really good, my 10 year old gave it a huge thumbs up!

Simple and very delicious! Had SNPs from the local farmers' market and they were wonderful. Removed over half the bacon fat before cooking the onions. all else the same.

substituted turkey bacon, and therefore no grease. added a tbsp of EVOO near the end, and it helped create the perfect 'sauce'.
husband and 8yr old ate it up.

I too wiped out all the residual bacon grease and used a splot of EVOO instead... Absolutely love this and tonight is the 4th time i'm making it with an oven fried chicken as main course....

I was looking for recipes to use my garden sugar snap peas. The flavors sounded good but they didn't seem to blend. I had read that some people had found the recipe greasy so I used only ~ 1T of the rendered bacon grease. I think the sauce needed something to help it stay on the snap peas.

This recipe was easy, quick and yummy. I did sub pancetta instead of bacon. The pancetta had less grease than bacon and it added a nice flavor to the snap peas. I followed the rest of the recipe as it is written and it turned out perfect. This was such a great side dish that would compliment any meal. Thank you Rachel for another great and yummy recipe!

These were a bit greasy and soggy. If I were to try them again, I would use precooked bacon whch does not have as much grease and I wouldn't cook the peas for quite so long. I prefer my snap peas with a bit more "bite." Worthy of trying again and modifying the recipe to my family's taste...
