Next time I am doubling the batch! I, like some others, added red pepper flakes and chopped garlic to add a bit more flavor. My boyfriend is a serious midwestern meat and potatoes kind of guy and he loved this recipe. He told me this morning he was sick because he ate so much: To those who thought the recipe was too runny....bump up the heat and cook a bit longer and/or add a touch more tomato paste...worked for me!

These are great. They taste very close to the canned stuff, but 100 times fresher. For those complaining about the runny-ness of the sauce only use 1 cup of tomato sauce. I thought it was the perfect amount. Next time will cut back on the sugar a tad bit, but other than that this is a great recipe.

This was actually pretty good. It was the first recipe of Rachel's I've ever tried. I read other tips to add minced garlic, hot sauce, some cumin and hot red pepper flake, which I did. I also used ground turkey instead.

This recipe is absolutely delicious, and stays true to the flavor of good ole American sloppy joes. My family loved this dish. This was my first recipe that I prepared from Rachael Ray and I most definitely will try many more from her category.

We make this all the time. I make a double batch and then serve the leftovers over spaghetti noodles, my kids all LOVE it! Great flavor and easy to make.

Holy Cow! This one is a winner. I used a packet of stevia instead of the brown sugar to lighten it up on the calories and added a finely chopped zucchini to sneak in another veggie for my family and it was a HUGE HIT!!! Used with lettuce wraps for me and buns for the family. Nicely done!
