Not sure why this got such rave reviews. I found the flavor decent, but the sauce was thin and watery. I would try them again but make some changes to give the meat and sauce a more rich flavor.

Wish I could rate it 4 1/2, but very good, and easy, and cheap, and according to my recipe software very healthy. I used my own steak seasoning blend, which is similar to Montreal. Next time I will take the advice and add a little garlic and red pepper flakes or cayenne.

OMG score!!!! great Monday night meal in between practice and Monday night football. My guys loved it. I did add some red pepper flakes, crushed garlic and hot sauce based on previous reviews and because we like a lil heat with our food. All plates cleaned here.......definitely will make again!!

I too was looking for a flavor similar to the "canned" variety of my youth. This was it. A great base to start with, then adjust to your taste. My alterations - ground turkey instead of beef, added cumin and hot sauce. Definitely a keeper for me!

I thought these were quite bland with no "pa-zang". It was sorely lacking in brown sugar and vinegar. It simply tasted very flat and boring before doubling to tripling the brown sugar and tripling to quadrupling the amount of red wine vinegar. This gave it some flavor and a nice tang that it was missing before. Before it simply was no better than the crap you buy out of a can in the store. It is a very good base to start with but should be altered to fit your taste profile. If you like bland, then this should work well for you but if you like a little tang and zip to your sloppy joes, play around with it.

I made this recipe for a sport concession stand item that I had to contribute and I was not sorry! I totally understand why it got over 500 good reviews. It was delicious! I had people saying how great the sandwich was and they didn't even know I made it! I did use 8lbs of ground meat - adjusting the recipe accordingly. Also, I did not toast the buns. Definately a keeper!!!

I have been looking for home made sloppy joes for years now. This comes as close to the packaged kind Mom used to make, and my kids loved it!

My family and I love this recipe and it is so simple to make. I do however brown the meat and drain first, I sometimes also add a little bit of red pepper flakes for a little heat. Other than that, I don't change anything. Why would I? It's perfect!
