Loved this recipe! I used ground turkey instead of the beef and it was so delicious, took me back to my childhood but this was much better than the can. I'm never going back to the can.

They came out great. First time making sloppy joes and my family loved them. I ended up using ground beef instead of ground sirloin and still tasted great.

I did not know that you could make sloppy joes with out the store bought mix. But I tried this recipe and loved it!! I will never go back to the mix again!

I have made this a couple of times. Really great, the kids and the husband love them. We use English Muffins sometimes for the bread. Depending on the tomato sauce you can really change the recipe around too.

I made this for my son's soccer team dinner and it was a hit. My kids never cared for the canned sauce, so I never bothered to make them. I wanted something easy to prepare and quick to serve as the boys tend to want to eat & run. This recipe sounded perfect since I already had all the ingredients here at home, not to mention the 5 star rating :

I used 3 lbs. of ground round 85/15 and doubled the rest of the ingredients omitting the
peppers and it was delicious! The one thing though is the recipe does not say to drain the meat which I thought was part of the magic in making it 5 star, but next time I will drain the meat before adding the brown sugar and Montreal seasoning...it was a little on the greasy side, but very yummy! I'll definitely be making this again!

I've made this 4 or 5 times now. It is the ONLY sloppy joe recipe I will ever use again! I have to double or triple the recipe each time because it is such a hit at our house!

Just made it and I think it's gonna be a winner! I was a little distracted almost burning Gina's Spicy Potato Wedges, but it was a pretty forgiving recipe. I browned the meat and then drained the meat before I added the brown sugar and steak seasoning. I scaled back on the steak seasoning too, since others suggested it made it too salty. I tasted it at the end to see if it needed salt, and it did, but not much. I also let it simmer on the stove for quite awhile, as my fiance works late and it seems to be just fine on the stove staying warm. Simmering it seems to have helped keep the meat tender, as well as the onions. Great recipe that I can play with! Tastes good to someone who didn't grow up eating lots of Sloppy Joes!
