My husband is a vegetarian so I had to make some substitutions. I only made the burger part of it, since I already had other side dishes planned for it.
I used a soy based vegetarian hamburger to make the patties, and instead of using another one for the topping, I just chopped up a bunch of vegetables (heavy on zucchini and mushroom since that's what I had the most of at the time.
The soy burger substitute obviously must have had sodium in it (I didn't look :/ in it so the grill seasoning made it a little too salty, so the next time I will cut down on it and just add more black pepper. Regardless of this, my husband just RAVED on how good this was! He's been asking at least twice a week since I made it when I am going to make this again!

My son wants to be a professional chef when he grows up so we watch a lot of Food TV. We saw this recipe together and I thought I'd make it, but he wanted to do it so I let him. We did NOT make the slaw, but the fries and the burgers were great and he was able to do it pretty much by himself.

I watched this episode the other day and thought it looked like another one of Rachel's great recipes. I made this for family today and I have to agree with a previous reviewer who said to cut the chili powder in half. Although I am a big fan of Mexican food, I thought the chili powder was a bit overpowering. I will try it again with the adjustment. Otherwise, the rest of the meal, fries and chili, were very good.

My entire family really enjoyed this recipe, even my picky teenage daughter! We try to eat healthy most of the time, so we really appreciate "healthy" versions of "forbidden foods," like chili cheeseburgers. This recipe really captured the essence of the quintessential chili-topped cheeseburger from our favorite diner. Wonderful spices and flavors combined to make a great meal! Highly recommended! Will definitely make this one over and over again!

I made the burgers and the fries for my boyfriend and I. We LOVED it! He couldn't wait to have leftovers! The smoked cheddar makes it awsome!!

Loved this recipe but between the burgers and the chilli, you need to cut back on the amount of chilli powder used. I don't like cabbage so I made the salad dressing and tossed it with an iceberg lettuce based salad and it was great.
