The onions tasted good but the batter was clumsy and messy. I found that it didn't really stick to the rings well. The overall coating was thinner than I would have liked and my rings didn't look much like the picture. When I say thin I mean thin coating. There wasn't a nice crunchy coating like you'd expect.

Although they are very messy to make, they are worth the time and effort. The breading has just the right amount of "heat". For the dipping sauce, since we like it with more heat, I adjusted used less sour cream and increased the chili sauce and spices, but be careful of the cayenne pepper. We will keep this recipe in our arsenal. Just great.

The double-dipping is really a huge mess, but the taste and texture make it
worth all the trouble. Teens absolutely adore these!

The onion rings turned out great and were very easy. The sauce was just so-so. I will make these rings again and try another dipping sauce with them.

This recipe is so simple!!! The onion rings were great but I felt the dipping sauce needed more flavor. I increased everything but the sour cream. It turned out fantabulously. It tastes great on hamburgers also.

It's a fabulous recipe! The frying is easy to do and the batter is just delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to fry onion rings, but is worried that it is too complicated, because this recipe is simple and goes fast.

These are easy and quick. I serve them with a different sauce though- the one given with the onion rings isn't that flavorful (I use the Outback sauce that you can find a knock-off recipe for on the internet.

The dipping sauce was great, killer, awesome.
I am not great at frying and found the process very messy and my onion ring tasted pretty good but I was disappointed with the breading/ the flour paste didn't puff up or turn golden brown like I had hoped. This maybe because I didn't control the oil tempature close enough. I hate to go out buy a deep fryer but have to in order to get better visual results. The ring tasted very good but need to be served in the dark for now.
