It tasted good.... It wasnt a home run with my friends but they enjoyed it for the most part.... I think it was just a little too spicy for them...

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to ward off fellow cooks! This recipe was watery and tastless, even after adding additional chili powder and simmering the sauce longer than the recipe states. Don't waste your time on this one.

Extremely tasty. Listened to other reviews and upped the chili powder. Also could only find fire roasted diced tomatoes. I drained the liquid from the tomatoes since some reviews said the sauce was too wet. Rachael mentioned that you could add some chipolte chili powder. I added some and liked the added flavor. I also left off the basil since my husband doesn't like it.

This was a pretty easy recipe. I ended up substituting two jalapeno peppers (seeded for the cubanelle peppers because we couldn't find them. Even with that substitution, it still didn't have a whole ton of flavor. In addition, the sauce seemed a little liquid-y. I would probably add some cornstarch to thicken it up a bit.

I just made this recipe two nights ago and I must say that my husband loved it. I found the sauce to be too bland with just two tablespoons of chili powder, so I ended up adding two additional tablespoons of chli powder and some cumin. This made it spicy enough for us. I also used Ground Turkey and Chicken Broth, as opposed to beef products, which I think still tasted great and are much healthier. I left out the cubanelle pepper, because I forgot to buy one at the grocery store. It really didn't seem to matter. I thought the smoke cheddar really enhanced the dish. This recipe makes an ENORMOUS amount - so if you are a family of two - be prepared for leftovers!!!

I've made this recipe so many times. It does make a lot and since there is only two of us....I don't bake my chili mac like RR did. I use it as a "sauce" over any noodle that I have on hand and the rest I freeze for a quick meal. I had a hard time finding the smoked cheese so this recipe worked out well for me.

It's certainly edible, but I was expecting more - Especially after reading the reviews. I'd give it a "C" at best!

You have to try this recipe!! It was so delicious! However, I made one small change and my whole family LOVED it. They beg me to make this dish all the time now.. instead of using the shredded cheddar, I added about 1 and 1/2 cans of Nacho Cheese!! LET ME JUST TELL U... YUMMO IS RIGHT! This is definitely a keeper!!!!!

I made this for dinner tonight and was shocked at how amazing this tasted. I added more chili seasoning to the meat mixture and used whole wheat pasta. My oldest son had two heaping bowls full and commented on how unique it was. You must use the smoked cheddar. I will be making this again and again!

I liked this recipe a lot. It takes about an hour to do everything, so if you really want a 25 minute meal, this isn't it. Also, I substituted Ground Lean Turkey and it turned out great. I thought the beef stock might make it taste strange, but it didn't. Also, you might need to use two baking dishes, I did. The time factor is really the only draw back of this recipe, but on taste alone, a winner.
