I made this recipe for my boyfriend to the tee from the actual show. The smoked gruyere cheese was terrible and made myself and my boyfriend very ill. Not something I would recommand unless you have a cast iron stomach. Very disappointed since I use Rachel's recipes all of the time.

mine came out a bit watery even though I followed the recipe. I didn't think this pasta dish was all that great. the salad from the same episode was really good though.

I found this to be really mediocre. I usually really like her recipes but this was lacking even with doctoring. I wont be making this again.

My husband and I were very happy with this recipe everything came together beautifully.

It did take a little longer than the estimated 40 minutes. I enjoy softer peppers than this recipe allows time for, so I simmered it longer.

Rachel you are the best!!! I've done this recipe twice and the second time I served it with the Smokey Bacon and Bean Salad and what a combination. I had a hard time finding the cubanelle pepper and substituted yellow bell pepper and it was just AWESOME!!! Thanks!! It's one of my favorite dishes now and the basil just adds that little zest that makes it very distinctive.

This recipe was very good. We used whole wheat penne pasta and left the fire out of the tomotoes (for my 3 year old's sake! but it still turned out awesome. Just remember to put the casserole dish on the bottom rack so you don't burn the cheese like I did!
