I never thought tomatoes and poultry seasoning would compliment each other, but this dish was delicious. I used a 16 oz can of diced tomatoes and some basil because I didn't have rosemary. It worked well. I had left over turkey from Thanksgiving and chopped that in 1/2" dice instead of the ground turkey. I also added some fresh parsley to the ragout at the end. The polenta was delicious. I had always made it with just water, salt and pepper. This stepped it up a notch. Very nice twist on leftover turkey.

However, preparation was an hour (and I am not a slow cook. The four portions were VERY ample. I had some left over for lunch. Thanks, Rachael!

I was searching for a way to use some ground turkey I had in the freezer. My cupboards were getting bare so I was limited with what I could make. Even though I had never even eaten a ragu, I decided to try this recipe. I had to make some substitutions due to the bare cupboards (stewed tomatoes for the San Marino, canned carrots for the fresh ones - I added these at the very end, dried herbs for fresh, shredded colby-jack for the Parmesan, and cranberry juice/balsamic vinegar for the red wine, but it still turned out delicious. My family ate it up. The polenta made it very filling. We had left over ragu which my family ate with tortilla chips.

Wanted something different tonight for dinner, but without alot of time spent preparing the meal. Found this recipe and thought I would try it, and it is definitely a keeper. My family loved it; we ate it all! I could not find quick polenta so I did have to go the longer route and use the 30 minute version, but it was so worth it. I made Ina Garten's sauteed spinach as a side dish, and it was a perfect match. Thanks Rachael.

This recipe is pure comfort food and I usually have all of the ingredients at hand; however, I've made it w/o the wine and it's just as good. I usually omit the butter and add a little more poultry seasoning and make sure to add a decent amount of S&P. I LOVE the directions for polenta and I find myself using Rachael's technique every time that I make polenta. ou can't go wrong w/ this one and it can be altared to fit any taste.

i made the recipe exactly how it tells me to make it , and i found the flavor of the tomatoes in the turkey ragu overpowering the flavor of the ragu. with some changes , it would be much better but that means its a completely different recipe.

This was awesome. Didn't change a thing! My husband always inhales his meals but ate even slower than me to savor it all. Used Bob's Red Mill polenta- def. don't eat the turkey without it over the polenta!

This was the first time I'd tried polenta, and it was absolutely teriffic! The only substitue I made was for the poultry seasoning - because I didn't have any. I used a special seasoning that I have consisting of habenero, garlic and salt - and threw in a bit of italian seasoning, just because there was so much mention of it. Perfect! My husband just told me it was the best meal I had ever prepared. Try it, you won't be disappointed!!

Always looking for something different to do with leftover turkey, I boiled the carcass and stripped the meat from the bones. That way I had chunks of turkey instead of using ground meat, plus enough good stock for both the ragu and polenta. I used a food processor to finely chop the vegies and sauteed them first, making the sauce and added the meat towards the end to simmer. I omitted the rosemary, instead using Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp chipotle powder and 2 Tb chopped fresh basil. You can add a little heavy cream at the end if you like. DELICIOUS!

I made this a few nights ago. I followed the reciped for the Turkey Ragu exactly...no substitutions. I found it a bit bland. I was surprised, since so many great tasting ingredients were involved. The Polenta, however was great! I ended up eating just the Polenta for dinner. My husband ate his, but doesn't want it made again. I had high hopes for this, but was disappointed.
