Great. I doubled red beans, tripled black beans, added julienned carrots, 2 blackened poblanos, blackened the jalepeno, added 28 can diced tomoatos, tripled cumin, added 1 tbsp extra chili powder and half can

This was a really tasty and easy chili recipe. I loved the idea of adding refried beans to thicken it. In the future I may add more veggies to up the nutrition factor even more - I would definitely make again.

I found that it made 4 very generous servings.

Love it. We are trying to have a least 2 meat free nights per week and this chili satisfied my carnivore boyfriend. Very substantial and flavorful!

This was delicious!!! I'm going through a fast and I'm not eating any meat and this was perfect. I added a little more fried beans to eat. I forgot the ground cumin and onions and it still turned out great! My dad is making it tonight for him and his wife. I will be cooking this again in the future!

Love all the flavors in this recipe. Wanted to freeze leftovers but didn't last long enough. Made a few changes. Added four ripe fresh tomatoes, eight ounce can tomato sauce and increased vegetable stock in place of 32 ounce can crushed tomatoes. The toppings really make this fabulous - added all of them plus cilantro and plain Greek yogurt for sour cream. Perfect!

Love it! I was most of the way through when I discovered I had only 1 teaspoon of chili powder. Added some smoked paprika instead and gave it a nice flavor. Love the refried beans in there. Will try adding the grated sweet potato next time.

I love this recipe and have been making it over and over and over for years . The first time I made it by the book, now I play with the ingredients. I have made it with okra, with corn, with zucchini and summer squash, and so many more. I always use sam adams beer (boston lager or october fest and sometimes i even add in ground chicken or turkey. This recipe is a GREAT base, and again THE ONLY base I use for red chili! Thank you Rach!!

Who knew making chili could be so easy! I love the fact that Rachel uses the vegetarian refried beans. Gives this chili the right consistency. Love it!
