This soup is really great. I wasn't sure as it was cooking-didn't look like anything special, but it turned out great. The toppings put it at the super level. It does look like there are a lot of ingredients and it would be hard to prepare, but it's really not. I like to have soups on hand this time of year so I made this soup, a corn chowder, and a butternut squash soup all at the same time. This soup didn't take a terribly long time to prepare. Give it a try. I think you will be glad that you did. Please note, if your sensitive to heat (although I didn't find it too hot you may want to cut out the chipotle peppers in a adobo. I'm not sure if the soup will be as good though!

I have had this recipe in my arsenal for almost three years now and I just tried it tonight -- all I can say is WOW WOW WOW. This is definitely one of the best chicken tortilla soups I have ever tasted. The number of ingredients looks daunting but I found that this was very easy and quick to make. I made substitutions where necessary and it turned out amazing. This is a big favorite from now on -- way to go Rachel!!

This is the most AMAZING soup I have ever tasted! I truly love Rachel for this one. My boyfriend comes home early when I make this soup, that's how good it is! I add extra ingredients, to taste and its a hit every time.

OMG! This soup was too spicy! Tortilla soup is very time consuming, however, this recipe didn't take long at all. The soup itself was very good. So spicy, though, it was almost inedible. I want to find a way to tone it down alot!

Wow!!! So good. What a perfect amount of everything, and healthy! I didnt use any cheese, and added a little extra chipolte peppers since I like it a little spicier. Excellent soup for summer or winter. Tons of flavor!!!

This is the best. Make it immediately, especially with fresh avocados, don't skimp and get the pre-made guacamole. I just cannot believe how good this dish is.

Add my name to the list! This soup was wonderful! The smoky flavors and rich spiciness made a routine chicken soup one of the best I've ever made! Kudos from a Texan who has tortilla soup frequently. This one is a keeper.

First off my husband doesn't really like soup and he LOVES this soup! It is one of my favorite soups to make and luckily where we live I can get most of the produce year round. Only drawback is is that this soup always takes me almost an hour to make. So tasty and worth the effort!

Very Delish! Love this recipe and so does the whole family. Have made it several times and it's a hit everytime! Highly recommend making this recipe for get togethers, cold nights and just whenever you're craving chicken soup.
