You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 12 slices thick bread
  • 2 cups coarsely ground almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Sliced seasonal fruit

Directions

Beat the eggs, add the cream, salt, cinnamon and vanilla. Submerge the bread slices in the egg mixture for 5 minutes. Lay both sides of the bread in the almonds to coat. Heat the butter in a heavy pan until the foam subsides, then add the slices of bread. Cook over low flame until delicately brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, garnish with sliced fruit and serve hot.

    This dish is quick and delicious! Did not have cream, so I substituted Evaporated milk (2%. The almonds added great crunch and flavor. I will definitely make this again!
