So Delious! Great Birthday cake. Makes enough for 24 servings, because it is so tall and so rich. Will satisfy any chocolate cake lover. This will be number one on the birthday cake list when its gotta be chocolate.
Beware that you need a super big bowl for mixing before starting. So happy I saw this episode by chance.

This cake was so easy to make and my husband loved it! I substituted 3 cups of splenda and used only 1 cup of sugar and it turned out great.

Just baked this cake today for my husbands birthday. Simply divine. Not really the same recipe if you changed things though.

I bake cakes for co-workers birthday's and wanted something a little lighter vs. a buttercream. This received RAVE reviews from not just the women, but the men as well. This will be my go to chocolate frosting from now on!

My wife and I saw Ree bake this on her show this past Saturday and my wife commented that she wished she had it for her birthday which was yesterday. I decided that I would attempt to bake this for her. And I am in no way a baker. Actually my first stab at baking something not from a box. The recipe was easy and it turned out pretty good.

I have been making this cake for over 40 years, I got the recipe from my mother, it has been a go to recipe ever since the first time she was made, It is quick, easy, and all the ingredients are usually in the pantry. The only difference is we make a 1/2 a recipe, cook it in a 9X13 pan in a 400 deg. oven for 20 min. Start the frosting at the end of 15 min.: 1 Stick Oleo--- 4 T Cocoa--- 6 T Milk--- 16 Oz Powdered Sugar--- 1 T Vanilla--- 1 C Pecans -- optional or ---1/3 C Peanut Butter -- optional
• Melt oleo add milk and cocoa bring to a boil
• Beat in sugar, and vanilla, stir in vanilla and opt. ingredients
• Pour over hot cake
You really must try it with the peanut butter...sooooo good.

You will love this cake. This is the exact same recipe my Mom has used for years and I make it too. The only difference is this recipe is doubled and we put it in a 13x9 pan and the frosting is different. I will deffinately try the frosting. My son is not a lover of chocolate but this is his favorite cake. I will have to try making layers instead of a pan of cake.
