This came out decent. It wasn't bursting with flavor and I didn't expect it to based on ingredients, but it was a little too bland for me. I over salted and peppered as well. It also wasn't as cheesy as I prefer and I added extra cheese to it, but still good. Super easy. Took longer than the recipe stated for my broccoli to soften. Will probably make again but with slight alterations based on personal preference. It's a good base to experiment with to make into a rockstar recipe.

This soup was delicious, and I plan to use this as a base recipe for other recipes like cream of asparagus soup. I used 2% milk as another reader suggested, and I still considered it to be rich and creamy. It took me longer than the suggested time to soften my broccoli, but otherwise, it was a pretty easy dish. Worth making again, for sure. Another solid recipe from Ree.

This soup was delicious. The whole family loved it. With such few ingredients, the quality of each ingredient used is going to make a difference. A good quality sharp cheddar that you shred yourself is going to make the soup taste so much better than shredded cheese from a bag. To suit our family's tastes, I used about 1/2 cup of chicken broth and a splash of white wine to thin the soup a little. Yummy!

I have a question. What do you use for a bread bowl? I have never done that, but I would like to try it :

Im sorry Bree. This is the first recipe that I made that I did not like. Its bland bland bland. I added extra salt and pepper then I decided to add a can of cream of chicken and some chicken base. That seemed to help.
