My first attempt at Chicken Fried Steak. Very good, and very easy. I still need to tweak it so that the steak is more crisp. I LOVE the gravy. Could drink it out of the pan! I definitely will try this one again.

Really easy, but I pounded out the steak a little to help it cook faster. First time I made it forgot to put it in the flour first it was still okay. But this time I did it right and it was even better than the first time. I will only use 1/2 the milk next time had a lot left over.

It was easy and my husband and brother loved it! My hubby gave me a big hug after he finished his plate! I made the creamy mashed potatoes as a side. I will do this again.

If I could give this recipe 10 stars I would! I have never made chicken fried steak, although it is a favorite for my husband when we eat out. I learned to make "country gravy" for my fried chicken many years ago, but I just never knew how to tackle the meat, seasonings, prep and cooking time for the "steak". This was so easy to follow and my husband said he will never order it out again, because it would never compare to Ree's Recipe. Delicious!

My first time making Chicken Fried Steak. Hubby went back for 3 helpings, and said it is the best meal I have ever made for him! He said it is like his Mom's and was one of his favorite meals growing up. I'm very proud of myself, usually first time recipes and me don't get along. To get approval on my cooking from my Super Picky Hubby is a MAJOR accomplishment! It was really tasty, I don't usually eat fried food.

This was really tasty. No matter what recipe I use, I can never get the coating to be crunchy...it is always soggy. I think that must be my own fault though, and not the fault of the recipe. Even though it didn't come out crispy for me, I thought it was incredibly tasty! The gravy was really good, though I did use some chicken stock as suggested in other reviews. Thanks Ree..I will continue to try your great recipes!

My family will love this. When my husband and I eat out he orders chicken fried steak. This will be much better.

This was excellent. I have tried a few chicken fried steak recipes and this was the best.
