This is not chicken fried steak. Chicken fried steak is made with round steak and pounded out, floured and fried. I have used cube steak and it is not the same, you will not get enough drippings to make gravy, at least not good gravy. Not country cooking.

Eh.....meat was too tough! Cooked 3 mins per side as written in the recipe. Gravy delicious but did not make up for the tough meat.

Had bone n skin chicken breasts thawed out so used it, fantastic! Pounded the breasts a little after I boned them and all was PERFECT. My Southern Mom always made milk gravy with fried chicken, and this is the same. Thank you Ree! Love seein' ya on TV

Ree's recipe is a keeper. Really good. I've been making chicken fried steak for over 30 years. Hers is one of the best, if not THE best, I've made.

I've used the seasoning flour in my gravies for years with no ill side effects, just terrific gravies!

Atta girl Ree! Am so excited you have your own show!!
