I followed the recipe exactly and it was so delicious. I did have to add more oil since there was barely any left to make the gravy, and added more flour than called for. But the amounts are all accurate and I used about 3 1/2 cups of milk for the gravy. Also the meat did have to cook longer than 2 minutes per side to get cooked through... but man, covering everything in the gravy was such a hit!

I really like Ree's recipes. She uses the same types of seasonings that I used, nothing so fancy that I have to go to a specialty store or only use for one recipe. This recipe tasted better the second day. I combined it with the Alton Brown recipe and watched his video. I used 3 cups of milk and added 1 cup of chicken broth to make the gravy. In the future, I will reduce the 1 1/2 cups of milk that is to be added to the eggs as it went to waste. The gravy atop the mashed potatoes was OMG!! Now, I am ready to go get in my bed and take a nap!

I've attempted chicken fried steak before and it never seemed to turn out right. This recipe was wonderful! Loved how it was seasoned and the cream gravy turned out awesome! The only drawback was that my kitchen was a huge mess but oh well..... it was worth it.

I had given up making chicken fried steak, it always came out so chewy. I couldn't resist one more try. Ree's looked so good an she made it look so easy. It was and it was. Awesome!! Now it's going to be a meal we have at least once a month.

It was amazing and fun to make :D The only reason I rate it 4/5 is because when I fried my steaks, I didn't have as much oil left over so I added a little more oil, flour, and a couple splashes of chicken stock which made it amazing! Everyone was impressed that at 17 I made this all by myself, I love this recipe and I will make it again for my friends and family. Btw, to re-heat it, I suggest putting a pat of butter into a pan, let that melt on medium heat and then put the steaks on for two minutes each side, or until they get a slight brownish orange toast on parts of it. (:

I made this last night for my husband and granddaughter. It was loved by all! The season salt was the perfect ingredient for the gravy......it was fantastic. This is a keeper.

I love chicken fried steak and this is wonderful - I added extra pepper to the gravy for more pick-me-up.
