my husband and i both liked this recipe alot but i gave it a 4 star because we thought the gravy was a little bland tasting...next time will add sausage to the gravy.

I had fond memories of Chicken Fried Steak from my high school days in Texas, but have been sorely disappointed over the years every time I have tried it in restaurants. The Pioneer Woman to the rescue! Her recipe not only lived up to my expectations, it exceeded them! My whole family LOVED this recipe and it made enough to feed us two dinners! We made Ree's Creamy Mashed Potatoes with it, as well as Roasted Broccoli. This recipe is a keeper!

This is the best ever! I used ribeye for this recipe and it just melts in your mouth. My cowboy husband raves to everyone about this dish

This is a great recipe. I added a litte more cayenne pepper for more kick. The whole family loved it.

These are by far the best tasting chicken fried steaks that my family and I have ever tried! The seasoning in the crust is perfect!

This was definitely tasty!!!!! I am not a cook by nature so I am somewhat challenged when it comes to cooking: But I will say that this recipe was very easy to follow and extremely delicious! I have never cooked Chicken Fried Steak as I am often intimidated with cooking meats on the stove top and was very proud of myself. Ree - this was by far the best that I have ever eaten. My kids and BF enjoyed it so much that they made two trips to the kitchen to get more. The only thing that I had to adjust was the cook time for the steaks. The recipe advises 2 mins on each side and I had to go a little longer. I assume my skillet was not hot enough. This will definitely be a reg dish on our table.
