This recipe was very good, again, you don't need a culinary arts degree to make the Pioneer Woman's recipes but I guess that is her signature. My husband and the girls loved it.

I made this 2 wknds in a row! My hubby added a little red wine with the milk when making the gravy . . . .so good!! I also tried this recipe with ribeye steaks sprinkled with flour, salt and pepper. I cooked them in the skillet and made the gravy with drippings, milk and wine. This is fantastic! Serve with mashed potatoes and Ree's marinated tomatoe salad.

Sorry Folks, this IS real chicken fried steak. Doesn't matter whether or not cubed steak is used. Come on down to Texas and see for yourself. Plus, Girlfriend is cook for a ranch family! They need food that sticks to the ribs! That job is physically demanding!

Really, really good! Only changes were buttermilk instead of milk for the wet dip because I needed to use it up! And my hubbie added about 1T of Tabasco to the eggs & buttermilk cause we like spices in every part of the coating! I always use me dredge flour for the gravy & since you cook the roux to brick color it's plenty cooked to kill any bacteria! Great recipes! Really enjoying the show! The views of the farm are eye candy to a person living in crowded LA county!
