I made this recipe for the family last weekend and I have to say it was delicious and simple. I worried when I completed the recipe (followed it exactly before I refrigerated it overnight. It just seemed "dry" to me. I worried because the loaf of french bread I used was pretty large. But I fought the urge to mix up and add more milk/egg mixture. I'm glad I did, because it turned out beautfully and really good. Baked it for 1 hour and it had a great crust on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I made an apple cider glaze with powder sugar, cinnamon and butter. YUM! I love u Ree, you make real food for real people!

I have been looking for a make ahead breakfast dish to feed all the family at holidays. I made this for a crowd on Labor Day weekend. EVERYONE loved it!! I served it with a side of crispy bacon for the meat eaters. The sweet and salty combo was really a winner! I will make this again next time the crowd comes home to visit. Tip: Let it come to room temp before baking.

Made this for breakfast and it was a HUGE hit!! Super easy and delish...love that you make it the night before. Perfect for a Sunday Brunch. I cannot have sugar so I made it with Splenda granular and Splenda brown sugar blend and served with sugar free syrup...noone knew the difference...

Like most all of Ree's recipes, this was wonderful. I am old enough to be her mom, and am still learning...

I may never eat traditional french toast again. This was AMAZING! The only thing I did differently was to add a 1/2 tsp. cinnamon to the liquid ingredients that you pour over the bread 'cause that's how I make my french toast. I also topped with some chopped up fresh white peaches rather than berries. This would be even more amazing topped with some baked apples (think apple crisp!. SOOOO good! And a HUGE hit!
