I made these for a Mothers Day Brunch this past weekend. First off- the dough was VERY easy to make, and easier to work with than some others I have tried. I had no problem with my dough rising, in fact it was quite light and fluffy. The only reason I did not give these 5 stars is because, the dough itself was not as sweet as I would have liked. A few things I did change was:
I used half brown and white sugar in filling
I did cut back some on the sugar in the filling, used only 2 sticks of butter and made a paste instead of melting it- the filling was perfect.
I baked these on sheet pans instead of round cake pans
I frosted them with cream cheese frosting- just my preference.
I am going to make these again when I have my family visits in a few weeks and will add some more sugar to the dough- also a pinch of freshly ground nutmeg.
BTW- I LOVE the Pioneer Women!!

Delicious and easy! I love to bake and I bake a lot of bread and have used other cinnamon rolls recipes. And these are the best and so easy! I will never make another cinnamon roll besides these!

I have never had a problem with Ree's recipes until these rolls. I made the recipe from her cookbook and from what I see, very different from her video. Would like to make successfully next time. Would love some suggestions. My rolls did not rise. the dough was super sticky.

Easy to make. I like that it makes a large quantity too. Messy but worth it. I personally am not a huge fan of maple flavoring but the icing is good without it or with vanilla extract instead.

I really love Ree and I bake 2-3 times a week, however this recipe was a complete failure. Over the last 36 hours, I have tried this recipe 3 times and each effort was a failure. the first time I assumed that the milk was still too hot when I added the yeast bc the dough didnt rise. On the second trial, I waited for the milk to cool for 45 mins per her actual website's instructions before adding the yeast and still the dough didnt rise. Third time, I waited for the milk to cool to lukewarm and then added the yeast but I let the pot stay on the stove (because I noticed in her video that she never moved the pot and her instructions just say turn off the heat. I assumed that the residual heat in combination with cooler milk would help but still the dough will not rise and this time it was very tough to mix. I would love a homemade cinnamon roll but this is just not working no matter how much time and money I waste.

Our family loves this recipe and has turned it into a Christmas family tradition like Ree's mom used it. We make large quantities and share with friends and neighbours. They are very sweet and a great treat once a year.My kids love to knock on the doors of neighbours and suprise them with these fresh baked treats.

This is the worst cinnamon roll recipe I have ever tried! I followed the recipe to the letter. The dough didn't rise like it should, and when I rolled it out, the dough was oily, wouldn't roll up at all. The whole batch ended up in the trash can. What a waste of time and money.

Way too sweet for me. Also, did not like the strong maple and coffee flavor. I like a more traditional, less sugary roll.

I have made this recipe twice and it turned out great both times. The first time I used confectioner sugar, milk and vanilla for the icing and everybody loved it. The second time I used the maple icing and they liked it even better. The only thing I would change is to use a little less butter for the filling. Will definitely be making this again!
