I thought that the dough was very easy to work with but the texture was not like the usual cinnamon rolls that I make. It was very easy because there was no kneading involved. I made 1/2 the recipe and it made a lot of rolls. Everyone loved them at work. I've never heard of using baking powder or baking soda with yeast dough. I think that is why the texture was off.

I halved the recipe. All the while I thought "these are too soft, they will not work" but worked on through. I did use softened butter because I felt was more controllable. They were absolutely the BEST cinnamon rolls I ever ate or made!!!! Ree's tip about "when you think you have enough cinnamon or sugar... add more" was precious, and very useful. Also, because there are only two of us, I froze them individually and they were just like fresh whenever we had them.

I agree with jennifer mccoy, i wasted all my ingrediants because i didnt realize i needed to wait 45+ min before adding my yeast. I have never worked with it before....I looked up another one of Ree's cinn roll recipes witch actually told you to wait a while. Im hoping to try again though!

These are great! My first half was very messy and did not look like cinnamon rolls (they were not worth gifting. Butter went everywhere and the dough didn't roll. My second half was great! I chilled the dough overnight so it was much easier to work with ( I also floured my counter a little bit. Also instead of melting the butter, I used softened butter and whipped it with the sugar and cinnamon, then I spread it on the dough. Instead of using maple and coffee in the icing, I used a little extra milk and orange extract. Superb!

These were okay, but not my favorite. I think the recipe should say what temperature the liquid should cool to before adding the yeast. I think mine was too warm and I hurt the yeast. I did like how easy they were to make and the dough rolled out well. I will try them again.

These were much easier than my other cinnamon roll recipes and are absolutely awesome. I made two big batches and gave them to friends for the holidays and saved two pans for my family. Love it!

The dough is fantastic to work with! I highly recommend it for ease, not as anything healthy, of course. The filling is just plain overly decandant--too much butter, WAY too much sugar. All of my family had sugar overload and wasn't appreciative. I made the whole recipe, but only finished half the dough by the recipe, thank goodness. The second half of the dough I cut way back on the butter and sugar, and added some brown sugar and pecans to the filling, which really made a nice addition. The icing by the recipe is very nice, but only adds to the oversweetness of it all. I will be frosting with much less in quantity and these will still be ooey gooey sweet and delicious. My recommendations are to cut back on sugar in filling and icing!

Good, soft, nice dough. Mine were undercooked at 15 minutes, so next time I will bake them longer. I thought they looked done, but I think I was tired. All ovens are different.
Like other reviewers, I also made a cream cheese frosting ( 6 oz cream cheese, 1 1/2 cups 10x sugar, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 1/2 tsp milk & 1/2 stick butter . I love the dough. At Easter, I plan on adding anise oil and will be using it for my Easter Bread.

Just made these this morning - tried to cut the recipe in half, but my calculations were off. After letting rise for the hour, because I had included too much milk, I had to add more flour, baking powder & soda - could not add another envelope of yeast....they turned out GREAT. Rose properly and did not miss the extra sugar. I did add both white and brown sugars and walnuts, as my husbands loves walnuts. Did not pour as much frosting as recipe called for - I would wait until you bring the rolls out of the oven before making frosting, mine hardened up a bit while waiting for the bake time - will definitely make again - Love your family Ree!!!
