Reviewed these before and gave them a definite 5 star rating...they are kicka** wings!! However, just so y'all know, I tried baking them instead of frying them to try and save on the fat calories and "no go"...they didn't get crispy enough and so the skin was just blech!! Really no saving on the fat...will continue to fry them before saucing and baking them from now on like it the recipe says. Just follow Ree's recipe and you will come out a winner!! Sorry Ree...shouldn't have tried to "improve" on your recipe, it's great as is!! :-

Make this recipe exactly and you will NOT be disappointed- well, you will be disappointed: every time you have Wings at a restaurant! I have been using this recipe for over 2 years. Even made them for my friend who grew up in Buffalo, NY and she admitted, these wings are as good as it gets!

The hot wings were very delicious. My family loved it specially with the blue cheese dressing she made. These are the best I ever tasted from any restaurant.

These are very good without modifications. Just spicy enough and great with the cool celery and ranch or blue cheese dip. In my opinion, adding a ton of extra ingredients to a recipe and purchasing a different version of the original ingredients is up to each cook. I often add my own new twists to old recipes, however, I don't see how you can think it makes sense to give a recipe a bad review after you've CHANGED THE ENTIRE RECIPE. If you'd like to be creative, that's great, but don't change a recipe completely, then give it a bad review because your "improvements" didn't work out for you.

First time making wings and my husband and I both agree they are better than Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings. The lady who said they were too hot was clearly losing her mind. Her problem is she altered Ree's recipe and she used EXTRA hot instead of Original Frank's. If you follow Ree's directions exactly like I did, you will be eating the best wings of your life. Not too hot...Not too mild. Just perfection.

I gave only 3 stars because this recipe should have come with a SUPER HOT warning and did not. After all, the base of this is cayenne sauce! I don't like wings, but I decided to try this for my teenage son and his buddy. As always, I altered the recipe a little. In my version I added 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. chili powder, 3 squirts of honey and about 10 springs of cilantro (finely chopped. I had purchased Frank's Extra Hot (cayenne sauce. Three pounds of chicken wings made about 30 wing pieces ( a little over this recipe, but there was plenty of sauce I fried them in about 1/4 inch of standard vegetable oil versus deeper canola. In a nut shell, these wings were OFFENSIVELY HOT! My poor boys' eyes watered and nose ran and they turned red in the face. I'm going to try again with a milder sauce as it was almost painful for the boys to eat and that just doesn't work for a memorable dish [unless you want to remember that pain LOL]

I tried this. It was awesome. I tried the chicken both baked and fried. Both were great. I made the recipe as posted. Summer is coming, I can't wait to try this out on the rest of the family.

Great recipe. Might skip the frying next time to make it healthier.

Finally! A wings recipe that works deliciously just the way it is written! Yahoo! I like hot wings and have tried for some time to make a great plate of them. All the others failed. But this one, it wins! Thanks for a great recipe. I'll be adding it to my favorites :
