I took the advice of some other reviewers and made some adjustments. I rendered the bacon first to crisp it up. I only used 1 bell pepper, I used frozen corn, I used 1 cup half & half and 1 cup 1% milk (thats all I drink. I also diced up a potatoe and threw it in with the onions and peppers while they were sautéing. It was wonderful!!

Such a yummy corn chowder! My four year old said, "Mommy, you are the best soup cooker ever. You could work at Panera Bread!"

I used light butter and reduced fat cheese. With those changes, the WW point+ value was only 4 points per serving.

I have some crab meat in the fridge that I'm tempted to throw in. Yum, yum, yum.

Awesome! This was so easy to make. I added cayenne and chopped jalapeno's to spice it up. I also used milk and heavy whipping cream which I had on hand.

Very easy to make, and delicious! I baked my bacon before hand, to save on the fat, and used fat free half-and-half. I would totally make again!

My gosh, this is a great recipe. The taste is wonderful. Ree Drummond is the best chef. All the different peppers taste with the bacon and the corn has texture but corn, corn taste. The cheese melting at the end just put the smoothness to the soup. Soup in the bread bowls makes this recipe even more exciting and fun to eat. Thanks for posting

Simply amazing.. I cooked my bacon before... Had so much taste I didn't even have to season the soup...

2 stars for being fair. I love Ree, her blog, her photos, her show...but this soup was just not great. Too bell peppery and bland, and it wasn't under seasoned. It was just not something that more salt and pepper would spruce up. My family and I just weren't all that impressed. Not bad, mind you, but not something I'd make again. Sorry Ree.

Yum! Used 16 oz frozen corn since it's not in season now. I will likely fry the bacon separately next time as I didn't like seeing the bacon fat in the soup. I tried to make this healthier. I did use fat free half and half, and fat free chicken stock. I didn't feel like I was robbed of any flavor. Peppers and onions offered great taste and texture. A real keeper!
