Excellent flavor! First time I've ever made chowder. Family loved it. I used frozen corn kernels {3/4 cup kernels = 1 medium ear of corn. I used 3 3/4 cups frozen corn kernels}. Prep time & cook time took longer than recipe indicates. One thing I will do differently next time: I will precook the bacon til it gets crispy in a separate pan & drain it before starting the recipe. First time I've made one of Ree's recipes - it's a winner! : {Someone said it was bland on another review - be sure and season it.}

REElicious! Never had corn chowder before but looked so good on the show, so I gave it a try. My husband raved over it and it will be a regular during the cold season. I've added some small shrimp which went really well with it. Thanks Ree for some great food!

I made this today for a lunch date with my mom. One word: wow! She had not had corn chowder since we lost my grandmother who was known for her corn chowder. My mother said she felt like a 20 year old again eating it because it tasted like the chowder my grandma made. It was so creamy and so yummy! We just couldn't stop eating it! It was absolutely delicious in the bread bowls. Yet another winning recipe from Ree. Super easy and super scrumptious! Thanks! Doesn't get any better than this!

My whole family LOVED this. Not only does it taste great, it's SO easy to prepare. Nice and yummy on a cold winter's day. My daughter said "now THIS is how you can get me to eat my veggies"!
Like other reviewers, I too would cook the bacon first to get it extra crispy, then add the onions. A little added chicken would also be a nice addition, but certainly not necessary. Thanks, Ree!

I've never made corn chowder but, this is my new favorite! I made this for my family and the whole family loved it! The flavor and aroma of it was out of this world! Only thing I did different was use one large frozen corn package and added 4 slices of bacon instead of 3 it was called for. I also cooked a few extra slices of bacon separate in the oven and we crumbled up a slice to give it some crunch. I could not find the bread bowls but, did find toasting some mulit grain French bread to dip in it was perfect. This is great for a cold night when you're hungry! Thanks Ree for this great recipe! I love your show!!!

Wonderful and easy to adjust to your families desires! After I saw Ree make this on her show, I decided that I had to try it and I also made a few modifications based on other reviews and my families likes and dislikes. I added some chicken, flaked red peppers, and mexican blend cheese (extra, of course, it's cheese....it was great and my family really enjoyed it. Which is saying a lot because they have become wary of my soup recipes.

Excellent recipe! I cooked my peppers and onions longer than the recipe stated to make sure they would be tender. Definitely will make this again.

Loved it! Very easy to follow recipe. The only change I made was to add cooked chicken for more protein. Turned out awesome!
