Made this for lunch for family and they loved it. I made the recipe with no changes except frozen corn. I used a immersion blender for a few seconds to grid up some of the corn. This will be my Corn and Cheese Chowder Recipe from now on.

This soup was delicious! I'm usually unable to get my husband to eat soup, but he loved this one! I was initially skeptical of how the texture of the bacon would be, adding it with a lot of water filled veggies-obviously it's not going to be crisp. But it was not slimy as I had feared. I used a combination of half&half and milk, and a combination of full and reduced fat cheeses including swiss, pepper jack, and cheddar. Awesome!! We'll definitely be making this one again!

I made this during "the Blizzard of 2013"...sure, this chowder is perfect snow day eating, but would be great anytime. Easy to make and delicious. I had wanted to use reduced fat cheese, but couldn't get it this time; I will try that in the future as I don't think that will take anything but calories away. I like peppers, but like others here, didn't think it needed so many so I used half of all 3 colors...plenty of flavor. I used Half & Half this time, but would also try lite cream or milk in the future. I put a pinch of Cayenne & dried parsley...they added a little punch & subtle layer of flavor. Used "Birds Eye-Baby Gold & White" frozen corn; delicious & sweet. This soup is a winner, and one I'll be making over and over..great to entertain with too, as it's sure to be a crowd pleaser. Tks, Ree!

My family and I enjoyed another one of your recipes. The corn and cheese chowder. I made some changes by adding chicken and using different seasonings but overall this corn and cheese chowder was amazing and very filling. It was very easy to make. Thank you for sharing this one.....

Oh my goodness this is good! I have been wanting to make this since I watched the show on Saturday! Today is a cold dreary day so it is a good day for chowder! I did not have any bacon so I substituted sausage. I also used frozen corn. If this is any better with bacon and fresh corn I don't think I could stand it, lol! My husband just wanted a little bit at first as he had just eaten something an hour ago, but he has had 3 bowls so far! I love your recipes and your show! Thanks again!!!

I followed this recipe perfectly except I let all the veggies sauté a little longer. I made it for dinner tonight after watching her show this morning. This recipe is a keeper from now on. Had a happy boyfriend and a happy tummy. I served it with crispy prosciutto and melted mozzarella on ciabatta bread! Mmmm! Thanks Rees Drummond and food network!

I saw this on The Pioneer Woman this morning and went straight to the store to get the ingredients I needed to make this. PERFECT cold, rainy, stay at home in your jammies kind of soup! I made it exactly as written, except that I added some fresh garlic (pressed in with the vegetable mixture. I also ended up adding another tablespoon of butter. And, last but not least, I lightly salted and peppered all my layers while creating this delicious pot gold!! FABULOUS! Will definitely be making this again!
