I was looking for a new mashed potato recipe; normally other recipes leave me feeling like the potatoes are stiff and dry. This recipe was so tasty and creamy. I used a hand masher, but i would recommend using a good mixer so they can be extra smooth.

I tried this recipe for the first time for Christmas Eve/Day dinner. I followed the recipe and I got the MOST AMAZING mashed potatoes ever. I used a mini portable hand mixer to whip the potatoes after adding everything, and the cream just fluffed up those potatoes like magic! Every single person mentioned how good they were (and they were just one side dish of tons of other great food! Thank you for this awesome recipe! So easy.. and perfect! PS - the baking of the potatoes is a great touch.. but they were delicious just right in a bowl as well!

I have made these about 5 times now and they are always perfect! My husband has now said this is the only recipe for mashed potatoes I should make! I cut back just a bit on the butter pats on top, but it is definitly rich and creamy enough you won't miss that extra 1/2 stick. Definitely will make these again and again! Thanks Ree!

absolutely the best mashed potatoes ever!!! I agree with everything Ree did except the butter. I would cut back to 1.5 sticks. When I put the butter on the top at the end, it had puddled when I took potatoes out of oven. I love preparing in advance except the baking part. Thank you Ree. Love your show!

This is by far the best mashed potato recipe I've ever made. I will continue to make this for future special meals. My husband was blown away by how good this tasted. It was very easy to make and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to change up their usual mashed potato recipe!

Delicious and a hit with my guest ! The important part is to mash in the pot for 3 to 5 minutes to release the steam over a low burner or turn it off since it's still very hot. I used 1/2 of the cream cheese and it was still very creamy and rich. This is my mash potato recipe from now on. Thanks, Ree.

very creamy and tasty. I only used 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter. I didn't use any kosher salt because I used salted butter but everything came out perfect. It was so delicious with gravy and without gravy. thank you for this recipe.

I made these potatoes for Thanksgiving 2012, I doubled the recipe which was easy and didn't affect anything. I was slightly worried because after mashing and adding the ingredients the potatoes became very runny almost like soup. Then I baked and they seemed to stiffen up more, after pulling out of the oven and letting sit, the potatoes stiffened up and were not soupy. They were very creamy and smooth very easy and very yummy. My family enjoyed them greatly! I am making them again for a second Thanksgiving tomorrow!
