Tasted OK but when I went to pour it over my cake, IT HAD CRYSTALIZED. When I researched it, Elton Brown says he uses a stabilizer of cream of tartar or corn syrup so this won't happen. I wish I would have done my homework before I made this and took it to a party. Darn..

I made this for company last minute to top some vanilla ice cream. It was super easy and I had all of the ingredients on hand which was great. My only complaint is that it tasted way too much like vanilla extract. I wasn't using a high quality extract so maybe it would help to use a good one, but I would cut the vanilla at least in half. I will make this again though since it was so easy, next time I'll just use a teaspoon of vanilla.

this caramel was delicious! not only was it easy to make, but all of the ingredients were things i had at home. I am a teenager who loves to bake and try new recipes. I was able to follow this recipe and it turned out great! five stars!

This has to be the easiest caramel sauce I have ever made and taste great.I did go ahead and cook it until soft ball stage. I do love Ina's caramel sauce better if you want your caramel to be like caramel candy.

This is so easy and so good! I had all the ingredients on hand except for the half-and-half so I just used evaporated milk and it turned out AWESOME! We are having unexpected company in about 30min and I had no dessert, but now I can turn some vanilla ice cream into a dessert with some crushed pretzels and this topping : Thanks Ree!

I have made this recipe at least 6 times and it is an absolute sure fire caramel sauce that tastes great on ANYTHING! Yeah Yeah so it isnt a TRUE caramel...but who wants the hassel of all that?? In a pinch, this is great and my family absolutely loves it!!!

This was definitely easy, and the results are absolutely DELICIOUS! However I agree with a few other reviewers-- this isn't a true caramel, but more of a sweet brown sugar sauce. Still good, though :
